Wales- Mt. Snowdon in Snowdonia National Park

It begins. We started up towards Mt. Snowdonia 8:30am Sunday morning. The trail was 7.5 miles long. It took us about 4-5 hours to hike.

We still look alive and energetic. This was only mile one.

The lakes at the bottom of Snowdon were beautiful!

There was snow at the top of most of the peaks in the area. It was very cold on some parts of the hike.
We trudged through the snow only a few yards. We realized that to make it the last half mile or so to the top, we needed snow hiking gear. Our jeans, tennis shoes, and windbreakers just didn't cut it. Snowdon is the highest peak in Snowdonia National Park and I think the UK. It is over 3,000 feet above sea level.

The trail back to the car was very wide because in the 1800's the used to transport ore from the old mines in the mountains. There were some ruins along the trail. It also began raining on us and a sharp cold wind came around when we turned the corners.
Our Bed and Breakfast was a nice place in a cute little Welsh town called Betws-y-Coed.
We stopped by to view the outside of the castle in Conwy along the western coast of Wales.
We never fail to find a cup of coffee. This is the seaport in Conwy where there were lots of mussels.
The fellas found these Welshcakes they really liked. So, we stocked up on them for the hike and a few extra to bring back to Leeds.
